5th Annual Durham Robotics Event - 27 April 2012

The Durham District School Board will host its fourth Annual Robotics Event on April 27th, 2012. This year's event will see over 150 students from Grades 4 -12 participating in teams of four. Students are challenged to complete a series of problem-based learning scenarios that stimulate the creative mind and challenge the learners. Progressively, each task require students to work more closely as a team and more thoughtfully about their final product. Using Lego Mindstorms NXT kits, students will solve robotics challenges and learn about real-life robotics applications.

What can I do to prepare for Robotics Day?

If teams wish to practice for the event on April 29th, they can visit NXTPrograms and select some of the robots to build and program. There are specific links below if you wish to use them, although these specific designs will not necessarily be required to complete any of the challenges provided to your students:

Novice users are encouraged to build & program these robots: The 3-Motor Chassis and The Hammer Car
Veteran users are encouraged to build & program these robots: The Forklift and The Ball Roller Coaster

Teams can also see last year's challenges on this site under Past Events
